Challenge
The Social Media Business Council began as a small group looking to create a safe environment for social media leaders at big brands to share ideas and insights on how to manage the new world of social media for these great companies. Originally a sub-brand of Gas Pedal, the Council grew to the point that it needed a strong identity that could stand on its own. The Council was also continuing to grow and needed a system for the identity that would allow for new councils.

NAMING
The name was changed from the Social Media Business Council to the more concise and memorable SocialMedia.org. The newly acquired web address allowed for simplicity in the name and better leveraged the strength of the domain.

Brand mark & identity system
The identity system reflects the communication process and personality of the organization. Everything from the copy to the delivery of the content is very straightforward yet personable.
The brand architecture organized all the sub-brand councils into a system of vibrant colors that allowed for distinct and equal separation of the councils.
The brand mark is simple and neutral, which allowed it to work clearly within this system of colors.
