It Was a Pretty Good Experience

Last week I placed an order for the first time on Blurb, that hot print-on-demand online self-publishing service. My first impression: it’s a real book.

Other impressions of Pretty Good Summer, a book of seasonal photography by James Nord, Travis Ekmark, and John O'Leary:

The buying process was as quick and easy as any good modern e-shopping experience.

It was quick – arrived in just several days, packaged snugly.

Aside from the logo on the shipping box, you wouldn't know it was a Blurb product.

Nice finishing – the 108 page perfect-bound book features a glossy soft cover and magazine-quality paper within.

Text is appropriately crisp, the photos vibrant.

Feels durable.

It wasn't cheap at $47.50.

Digital printing is getting really good.

Curious to try it out soon.

"Wow! Thanks for sharing this information I can't wait to look more into Blurb. I might be a way to create a more quality zine as opposed to zines made on the copy machine."
