Spain in Photos

Two weeks ago I visited Spain. It was a really amazing experience – part vacay, part food and drink overindulgence, and part art and type nerdfest.

Some notable takeaways:

1. They do not do takeaway. It took us almost a week to finally figure out how to say we wanted something "to go" (para llevar), as people like to sit around for a while. Most cafes don't have the accommodations we take for granted, like paper cups for coffee or take out boxes.

2. Eating and drinking is cheap. Cans of beer can be found on almost any corner for about $0.70 apiece. Restaurants, bars, and cafes always have house wine available for a couple of dollars a glass.

3. Atlanta should be jealous of other cities' public transport. It was so easy to get around Madrid and Barcelona despite lack of Spanish abilities.

4. Old World architecture is awesome.
