Made

Made pays tribute to artisanship by upsetting its assumptions and de facto aesthetic.

What do you think when you hear "hand-crafted?" Probably something rugged and rustic. Bird and kitten motifs. Vintage. Scrap-booking and Etsy come to mind.

Made is a design exhibition that aims to expand our appreciation of handmade things.

Inspired by the resurgence of interest in handcraft (in fashion, food, objects, and more), Made pays tribute to artisanship by upsetting its assumptions and de facto aesthetic.

Made is put on by the Southern Design Concern in partnership with Modern Atlanta and Octane. Established in 2010, the collective exists to promote the work of designers who come from or are currently working in the American South.

Matchstic has two designers featured in the show – Staci and myself. We'll be working together on a piece – something that we hope will be surprising and unexpected and fun.

If you're in Atlanta June 4, come see us at Octane! There will be summer cocktails and a great list of designers.
