Magic Forgives Much

Why are some things so hype-intensive that people will go mad over getting to the experience? Long lines, high prices, driving across town - some things have an incredible pull. IMAX, iPhones, Elmo, & Potter. The difficulties in getting to them are apparently no match for the magic.

Some experiences are so large, so attractive, people will put up with loads of trouble to get to them.

And then there are the experiences none of us are very willing to put up with headaches to get to. The DMV, grocery, bank, & cable TV.

Most of the time I'm not very patient when I'm going out to eat. And then there are those really special places I'll deal with bad service and defend to the last.

The Soup Nazi was based on a real person.

If there's something you love, a unique experience, something extraordinary – we'll often put up with a lot to get to it.

Maybe the better strategy is not so much in making the lines shorter, the prices more accessible, and the staff more friendly – but the experience at the end of the line more extraordinary.

And if you want a great example, check out the latest on the opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Universal's latest theme park.
