Death Fork

My father-in-law gave me his old ten-speed a while back and it was in need of some work. This weekend I planned on dropping it off at the bike shop down the road to get it repaired. Soon as I walked in they told me it was trash and I was better off buying another bike. Apparently Viscount's (my brand) were notoriously problematic. A "money pit" is how the man put it. He also told me about one infamous Viscount bike part affectionately named the "death fork"! It's the part that connects your front tire to the bike frame. Apparently they had a habit of breaking… as you were riding. Wonderful.
