ALANA DY

“Work hard and be nice to people.”
—Anthony Burrill

Following her graduation at the Savannah College of Art and Design in the spring of 2010, Alana joined Matchstic as a fall intern. With no prior experience and after only a few weeks at work, she officially joined team as the first hired female.

Alana pursued design after discovering a Communication Arts magazine in her sophomore year in high school. She claims that it was similar to a “love at first sight” experience and still has that same magazine to this day.

Additional to design, Alana loves to cook and to bring people together. At Matchstic, she combined the two by establishing “family lunch,” where every couple of weeks, the team comes together to enjoy a home-cooked meal cooked at the office.

When Alana’s not at work, you can find her drawing in her moleskines, having dinner parties with her friends, playing video games, or eating somewhere on Buford Highway. She lives a nine-minute walk away from Matchstic with her high-school sweetheart, Jake, and their cat, Brie.
